TMD Diagnosis and Treatments Options

To diagnose, analize, and treat TMJ issues, Dr. Mooring begins by using Doppler Auscultation, a stethoscope microphone incorporating ultrasound technology, to measure and evaluate jaw sounds and determine the health and balance of your jaw joint.

Once we determine your needs we will discuss your options which may include:

  • A splint or an orthotic bite guard to relax your muscles, reduce pain, and stop nighttime clenching and grinding
  • Tooth adjustments and equilibration
  • Orthodontics
  • Lifestyle changes including relaxation methods
  • Chiropractic adjustments and physical therapy

We will evaluate your TMJ using the Doppler throughout your treatment to ensure continuing progress.

All of our TMJ disorder treatments are non-invasive and do not require medications or surgery. We think it is a great way to find your balance – and your smile!
