Christy is a graduate of Wayne Community College and has been working in the dental field since 2003 before joining the Mooring Dental family in 2017. As a dental hygienist, Christy spends her days at the office cleaning smiles, providing exceptional patient care, sterilizing all dental tools, and monitoring x-rays. She says the most rewarding aspects of being a dental hygienist are helping patients maintain their oral health and improve their smiles. Christy decided on a career in dentistry because she loves helping people and providing for her family. She says Mooring Dental is different than other offices because of the knowledgeable staff and the quality of care we provide to our patients above all else. Her patients and her coworkers love Christy because she’s loyal, caring, compassionate, and fun-loving. Outside of the office, Christy loves volunteering with her church youth group, attending mission trips, spending time at the beach, hiking in the mountains, spending time with her husband, cheering on her kids at sporting events.

Samantha attended Wayne Community College and brings nearly three decades of dental experience to our talented team. She’s been with us since 2014 educating patients and helping them feel comfortable whenever they come in for a visit or treatment. Taking care of smiles runs in the family. Samantha says seeing her uncle, who was a dentist, change people’s lives made a big impression on her and inspired her love of dentistry. She says our office is unique because of the personable, one-on-one experience we provide for every patient, high-tech environment, and quality of our exceptional care. Samantha loves working with our doctors because of the work they do; they make her care even more for her patients and their smiles. You’ll find that Samantha is always dependable, ethical, caring, social, and knowledgeable. She’s been married to her husband Craig for almost 20 years, and they share two beautiful teenage kids. She loves going to the beach with her family, taking in a concert here and there, dancing, traveling to new places, and enjoying the outdoors.
Jessica is a 2008 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry (Go Heels!). In 2003, Jessica started her career in dentistry as a dental assistant. She’s been with our office since 2012. As a registered dental hygienist, Jessica is able to form deep, long-lasting bonds with her patients as she helps tend to their smile over the years. Jessica says this is one of the best parts about the work she does because she cares for her patients not only on a professional level but a personal level too. In the office, Jessica is also responsible for our social media and marketing efforts. She keeps busy outside of work tending to her family including her husband Dean and triplets (1 boy and 2 girls). Jessica says she loves her family/work balance but admits that sometimes it’s nice to have a job you love where you can go to get a little break.
Dental Assistant II
Kelly attended both Ocean County Community College and the State College of Florida, earning her dental assistant certification. She’s been doing all things dentistry since 1994 and has been with our office since 2012. She’s usually busy around the office assisting the doctors during all dental procedures to ensure your comfort. Kelly loves her work because she says every day is different, and there’s always something new and exciting to learn. Kelly says she’s worked at other dental offices, but none of them compare to the top-notch care provided by the team at Mooring Dental. Kelly is always empathetic, intuitive, ambitious, compassionate, inventive, and independent. She’s been married to her husband for two decades, and they have two teenage boys, Nicolas and Nathan, who love to play football. The family has over 25 motorcycles and enjoys riding street bikes, dirt bikes, and 4-wheelers. In her spare time, Kelly supports the Corinth Holders High School booster club and enjoys swimming, fishing, kayaking, and taking RV trips.
Certified Dental Assistant
Since 1996, Veronica has been working hard in the dental field, helping to take care of teeth. She began working for Mooring Dental in 1997 at the Mt. Olive location and started working at the Clayton office in 2015. As a dedicated and educated dental assistant, she works closely with both doctors to help patients not only enhance their dental health but also help create beautiful smiles that boost a patient’s confidence and self-esteem. She said Mooring Dental is unique because it’s a father/son practice built on years of experience, uses only the most up-to-date techniques, and is a state-of-the-art facility with a caring, gentle staff. Veronica loves her line of work because of the bonds she forms with patients and their families, and the diversity each day brings as the dentistry is always changing. Veronica is friendly, meticulous, organized, professional, and reliable. Her husband works for the Columbus County Farm Bureau for over two decades, and they’ve been married for just as long. They have a daughter attending North Carolina State University. The family attends Western Prong Baptist Church where she serves on the youth committee. Veronica also enjoys boating and cheering on the NC State wolf pack.
Laurie Jane is a graduate of Wayne Community College and has been immersed in the dental world since 1986. Laurie Jane started as a dental assistant and moved on to become an office administrator in 2015. She’s been a part of our family dating back to 2003. She takes great pride in the work she does, helping people have healthier smiles and feel more confident about how they look. Laurie Jane enjoys working one-on-one with our patients, getting to understand their individual needs and concerns. She says it’s a privilege to work alongside the talented, caring team at Mooring Dental because it’s a local, community-focused office that’s knowledgeable, family owned, and features some of the very best dental technology available today. Outside of work, Laurie Jane is usually creating beautiful arts and crafts, tending to her garden, spending time with family and friends, and taking care of her three dogs.
Kristen attended Piedmont Community College. She started working in dentistry in 2002 and joined our team in 2012. You’ll probably see her at the office helping patients check in and check out, assisting with treatment planning, answering the phones, and handling insurance claims. She loves and is good at the work she does because it allows her to help others and build lasting relationships. If she wasn’t working in a dental office, Kristen says she’d probably set up an indoor sports training facility complete with a juice/smoothie shop. We love Kristen (and patients do too) because she’s humble, practical, committed, and compassionate. When she’s not busy helping our family of patients, Kristen is usually going on ‘adventures’ with her four kids ranging from a teenager to a toddler, bow hunting with her family, hiking with their dogs, watching her kids various sporting events, reading a good book, riding 4-wheelers, and volunteering in both the community and at church.
